Business has been smashing it since I have implemented different strategies from
Op thunder! I went out the day after Took action!
I am applying for the scholarship to the HTKA seminar.
With the airfares from
Australia, the cost of seminar (great cost), my business costs and cost of equipment, and the cost of the different wheels i have in motion since getting OP Thunder! (a place to call my own! Firing the boss!) the scholarship is the only way i will be able

Coach Even-Esh and Coach Reddick I need this seminar! I read about it and am
Looking everyday at how I can save enough $ to get it done!
And damn it is awesome!
I am implementing OP Thunder’s strategies on a daily basis and i believe from the great things i will learn at the HTKA seminar i will take it all away and put it straight to use, no hesitation, bring on the challenges! Nothing will stop me!
Hope to hear from you both! And meet you both! In this industry you are both my mentors and i am excited about the FUTURE!
Im still grinding trying to get the money to pay for this properly! im uncomfortable writing this, i dont ask for handouts. But this is the only way i will be able to afford getting over and seeing learning, and using this KICK ASS seminar!
Coches,
How are you? I will try to keep this short, Zach I recently reached out to you about the next usc cert which you told will not be for awhile. That was disapointing because I was looking forward to getting a chance to follow in your footsteps and learn your methods, as I have watched and admired the way you have come up in this business. The usc I could put the cash together for, the htka is a little bit out of my range now and i’ll tell you why. I always wanted to do what your doing, I was always a athlete and loved training, however do to some forces of nature when i was younger I had to take a different route, I ended up doing painting for about 20 years. A few years back I took on a partner, just last year that proved to be a mistake. I took stock of life and with a lot of bad things going on around me I decided eff it you only live once and I’m gonna live my dream. I went to Night school to get certified, studied my ass off and passed my cert. I then applied to every gym I found. I got a job at a big gym and soon realized I had no passion for it, I missed the garage, the sweat the grunting the odd object work and the respect of guys who train for a purpose. Training Mrs Jones cause shes going for lipo is not the way I want to work. I’m pushing 40 about to get married got a woman behind me who knows I can succeed (but i think is getting a little worried at how long it might take) and a family who looks to me more and more everyday to hold them down. I have much respect for you cause you have been were im at, I have hope because I see where you have gone. I feel the htka seminar could be that missing piece. I have a 2 door garage with a huge yard and some decent equipment, a ton of desire and a can do attitude. I would be thrilled to win this scholarship and I will do all it takes to make it work. Thanks for your time and all the inspiration you give. To all the others who will attend and apply, I wish you guys the best of luck as well ! Train hard, live strong
I tried to upload the video onto the comment section with no luck but below is the link. This is just a few major reasons I feel I am without a doubt the man for this scholarship. Words cant even describe how badily I want it. Check out the video and hope to hear from you guys!
Hey guys. I really need the scholarship. I don’t have a fantsy video to show. I am 34 years old and I have been running a personal training studio for 81/2 yrs. I thought I had a good business model and a pretty go marketing plan, but 81/2 years later I am still not much better as far as money as I was when I first started. I love to train and help people, I have been doing it since High School and at every job before I even knew what Personal Training was.
My wife is supportive, she is brining in most of the money to the house, I have picked up part time jobs here and there to help out but we have and are struggling. We found out that her company is shutting down and now our relationship is feeling a strain. She is wanting me to keep doing what I love, but we both know that if I can’t make it happen I will, I must get a job. The big company where I live(winston-Salem, nc) is R.J. reynolds. That is major tobacco company that produce cig’s. My whole family works there, My mom is getting ready to retire, my dad retired from there a few years ago and my brother is working there. Each of them gave up their dream for the saftey of the BIG PLANT in the city. They sort of look up to me because they see me following my dream and as they think doing well at it. I have helped countless people and no matter what happens will continue to help people in the way of advice etc….But I have given myself a deadline that no one else know’s about….If I can not make the business work where i can see profit and begin to help in the house hold, begin to save money so I can retire by the end of 2010. I am going to get a JOB. my family can’t continue to suffer so I can follow My dream. Thank you. any consideration is appreciated.

Thank you for the opportunity. I am stoked to come to Jersey and have the chance to meet you both and change my star. Please watch the video sorry for the length, sometimes I get going on things too much.

What’s up guys!! I’ll make this short.. I attended the level one cert. in April and it was the best experience ever..I left there ready to conquer the world.. A week after the cert. i opened my own gym about 40min outside of Pittsburgh Pa… I’m about a hour from Rick Daman’s place and he has helped me out tremendously..but i’m still lacking the business aspect. Right now i have 6 athletes and 10 bootcampers..which isn’t bad but i also have a house, wife and three kids to provide for. So i need to kick more ass and get this thing bigger. I really need to be at this seminar but just don’t think i can swing it right know. So if you guys could consider me for this scholarship it would be greatly appreciated..Also i can promise you what ever i take from this seminar will be put into action ASAP!!! Thanks Chris
I’ll try to keep this simple. I’m 24 years old and love physical training! Since I can remember my first time running I’ve loved the mental and physical challenge my training brings me on a daily basis.. Currently I’m a dish waser/cook at a local restaurant in Breckenridge Hills, MO. However my family and friends have always come before anything in my life though. I’m the youngest child of three raised by my single mother who worked multiple jobs to support us. I want to make something out of my life that my sister and brother have yet to do. I want to make my mother proud and help her live comfortably as she preparing to reach her 60s.
I recently lost my girlfriend of 8 1/2 years and as much as it hurt it was an eye opener to go after my dreams and what I believe is my TRUE purpose in life.
God blessed me with something to do in this life. And both myself and my family honestly believe that I could help countless people with their physical and mental training. And for the first time, I believe it too.
I promise you that this information will be implemented ASAP. And the people who laugh and sit on their ass will learn in the long run not to mess with me and my dream.
Along with God, I live by the following quote posted above my bedroom door every morning when i wake up for inspiration.
From the poem “Invictus” – “I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul”
Words to live by everyday…
Asking for help sucks! But I thank you both for the scholarship opportunity. I’m 36 years old and live in Des Moines, IA with my 4 kids and wife. I have been in the fitness industry over 10 years now, owning my own gym and fitness coaching company before taking a job in June 2009. The job was a learning experience to say the least. Nothing worse than working 8-5 for a paycheck. I had to get out. So as of June 2010, I’m back to training out of my garage, working on my membership site and loving life! But still trying to get over the financial hump and stress of getting started again, which is already taking its toll on the family.
Family is my number one reason for going after the scholarship. It’s time for me to step it up for them and create the lifestyle they deserve! I need to make it happen with the Kick Ass Seminar.
Zach and Paul,
I’m stoked about the opportunity to come and learn from the both of you! I’m 26, a former Div 1 Strength Coach, who in Feb got got let go due to budget cuts. No worries though, had Bootcamps already rolling so I jumped into that full time and has been going great. We are getting ready to open Dynamic Sports Development within the next 4 weeks, renovations on the warehouse are already underway, plan is developed (continually) and we’re ready to hit the ground running. This HTKA seminar could not come at a better time, our gym will have been open for 4-6 weeks, so it’s no turning back! Obviously with any start up, money is tight, having a scholarship to the HTKA seminar would be AMAZING. I will have no other option BUT to take what I learn and immediately (probably even before I leave NJ) apply what I learn. I will come back and completely dominate Tulsa and change the lives of athletes forever, along with mine!
Thanks again for the opportunity and look forward to seeing you both on the Jersey Short
Hey Zach and Paul,
I would LOVE the opportunity to come and learn form you guys. I am 42 years old this year, but I refuse to die with music in my soul. I have trained like a madman for more than 25 years and been blessed to have worked out with some great partners in that time (a former Canadian powerlifting champion, competitve bodybuilders, and a former world’s strongest man competitor.) I never attained the heights those guys did but I never supplemented my diet the way they did. Nevertheless, they lit a fire in my soul for which I am eternally grateful. I wish to share this passion with others. I go to the leisure centre every Sunday (as well as training at home 2-3 other days per week) and people always ask me what I’m training. They can’t understand why I train so hard (pullups with 70-90 pounds added, deadlifts of 350 pounds, dumbbell incline presses with 115lbs for 3-5 reps, at 7:00 am on a SUNDAY morning. Truth is, I can’t train as heavy or as often as I used to, but, as Smitty likes to quote Dylan Thomas, I MUST “Rage against the dying of the light”, it’s in my DNA. I’ll die with gripping the iron.
I mention all this not to impress you, but to impress upon you my undying passion for training. I think that is my “reason for being”, my “gift” to share with the world. And the “pussified” world needs people like us, all old-school grit, full of piss-and-vinegar.
So far all I have done is taught you that I’m a “washed-up meathead” with a passion. But thus passion also drives me to take action steps: I have gotten my CSCS within the past year, recently bought my domain name, trained a few housewives (not my dream!), established a WordPress blog (walkyourtalkfitness’s blog), contacted local mma clubs regarding FREE clinics, and started reading business books (by Cosgrove, Plummer, Gerber).
My wife is bringing home the bacon at the moment by working at a drycleaners. She is very supportive of me, but I feel I am letting her and my two-year-old son down by not making a financial go of things. Having a son has sure lit a fire under my ass to succeed. I have always walked my talk in the gym and now I’m starting to walk it elsewhere in my life also. (Hence the name of my business: Walk Your Talk Fitness).
I make no excuses for my under-achievement. Martin Rooney says where you are where your supposed to be in your training and in your life as a result of what you have and haven’t done. consequently, I am taking action steps to change the lives of my family and be a father my son can be proud of. Winning this scholarship would be a massive action step. Nevertheless, with or without it, you WILL hear from me again. My credit cards are maxed out at the moment and I have a huge mortgage on my (old) house, but I will pay off my debts and I WILL find a way to charge your cert to my card even if I don’t get the scholarship. If I had a Flip camera I would have made a video. Look for videos from me soon. Thanks for “paying iit forward”- I will do the same.

I am writing to you not for myself but for a friend of mine who would be the perfect candidate for this scholarship. Al Heinemann is a local trainer here in Vancouver, BC, Canada, he has a partner and two young children so this scholarship would be an obviously huge financial break for him. But this is only a small part of why Al would be the perfect candidate.
Al has a background in martial arts and strength and conditioning training. More details of which you can see on his website terminalcitytraining.com.
I am not going to regurgitate what is on the website I just want to let you why Al is the man for this scholarship. I have never been a client of Al’s but met him while training at my local gym. I have seen Al interact with his clients and see the high level of expectation he has for them as well as the wealth of knowledge he has and the innovative training techniques he uses for all of his clients.
Personally I have worked out with Al both in the gym and with some outdoor work and prowler sessions. He kills it everytime! I have no doubt that if he was selected he would bring a positive attitude and a killer work ethic to the seminar.
I have been hitting the weights for almost 20 years now and in all that time have met very few individuals I would trust to provide me with information and less than a handful who I would pay to train me and Al is one for them. I work in law enforcement and know that the intensity and knowledge Al brings to his work would help me stay safe on the streets.
This opportunity would provide Al with the knowledge and insight to branch out on his own and hopefully start his own gym and I would be the first person to sign up guaranteed!
My absolute respect to the both of you and keep doing what you do.
Zach and Paul, thank you so much for the opportunity to even submit an application. It’s such a noble thing to do, and I’m really grateful to you guys for being so awesome and excited that somebody that wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to come to something like this, has the opportunity to, and can change their life. I’d love for that person to be me. I read everything that you guys have put out and I am so inspired by your ability to create your lives on your own terms and help other’s at the same time. That being said, your scholarship requirements really resonated with me. In terms of my life, I am at the point where you were a couple of years ago Zach, training people out of my car in parks, and desperate to take it to the next level and open my own place.
It takes a lot for me to tell my story, because I can’t stand whiners and complainers, but I guess this is an appropriate forum for it. So here goes: I live in Australia, and for as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be a professional rugby player. I ate, breathed and slept rugby. It was in my blood and there was nothing that was going to stop me. A couple of years ago, I was playing a rugby game and got sucker punched from the side. I didn’t even stand a chance. My world went black and I woke up in an ambulance.
To cut a long story short, I had detached my retina and smashed my whole eye socket requiring a metal plate. What makes the story worse is the fact that the operation to reattach the retina was unsuccessful, 4 times! I had to have 4 operations on my eye over the course of 6 months. What makes the situation even worse, is that after every operation I had to lay face-down in this special device for 50 minutes of every hour – for 6 months. Anyway, 6 months lying face down gives you a lot of time to think!
At first I was really sad – this then turned into anger – which then turned into something else. A desire to help others – in short – if I couldn’t achieve my dream of playing international rugby, I really wanted to help others achieve theirs. I wanted to help those kids, who like me, were told that they’re too small or not talented enough. I want to open a facility and change lives, create men out of boys. Do everything that you and Paul are currently doing. I have started a rugby website, and I am currently helping a number of kids with their training, while my wife and I operate our personal training business. My dream is to transition from my current clientele to a more athletic/ youth clientele as this is my passion and where my dream lies.
Honestly, I love this stuff and helping these kids so much, that I’d do it for free. I want to create a business that gives me the leverage to help as many young men around the world as possible, through coaching, my own gym and information products and, as a side benefit get paid well to do it and support my family.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to submit an application, and thank you so much for helping somebody live their dream, whoever that may be. It is a great business lesson in itself, and I truly hope you guys are blessed for it. Take care guys and keep on doing what you do – it’s awesome!
Hey Zach and Paulie,
Thanks for the opportunity to apply for the scholarship and congratulations to the winners. Having just borrowed a Flip camera I can now post a video (albeit too late). At 41 years old, I make no excuses and always train for strength and conditioning improvements. See you soon (I’m saving for your certification course, Zach!)

Jason
Aw Jason thanks! And thanks for the constant inspiration from Jersey guys!
Guys, these videos are amazing, and Pauly and I will be having a VERY TOUGH freakin’ time bringing it down to 1 person.
I would have to say that at these times, I feel horrible while trying to do something GOOD.
Pauly will do our best and will announce the winner manana!!

PUMPED TO GET IT DONE!!!
Congrats Blaine & Edward! I’m looking forward to meeting you guys in Jerz!
